TRY SOFTBALL INTROS - 2024

Designed for NEW to softball prospective players interested in trying the sport of Fastpitch Softball!

OPEN TO:

• Players who have never played organized Fastpitch softball
• Open to Girls aged 5-13 (as of January 1, 2024)
• Open to Boys aged 5-8 (as of January 1, 2024)
• You do NOT need to be registered for the coming season prior to participation

WHAT YOU WILL NEED: 

• Softball glove (any glove will do at this point)
• Indoor Running Shoes
• Athletic clothing
• Water!
• Optional:  Softball bat and helmet  (These will also be made available by WHS to borrow). 

WHEN:
INTRO #1 = Sunday, January 21, 2024.  5:30-6:45pm.  Open to ages 5-9  (born 2014-2018)
INTRO #2 = Sunday, January 21, 2024.  7:00-8:30pm.  Open to ages 9-14 (born 2009-2014)
INTRO #3 = Sunday, February 18, 2024.  1:00-2:30pm.  Open to Boys/Girls ages 5-10 (born 2013-2018)
INTRO #4 = Sunday, February 18, 2024.  2:30-4:00pm.  Open to Girls only ages 9-14 (born 2009-2014)

LOCATION: Calgary French & International School - 700 77 St SW -  MAP

FORMAT: This event aims to Introduce kids to the foundational skills of the game, keep them active, and HAVE FUN!
During the 90 minutes your player will:

• Be introduced to the proper throwing & catching technique
• Be introduced how to field a ground ball and/or pop fly
• Be introduced how to hold and swing a bat
• Parents will be offered a quick overview of our program and Q&A with our WHS Board Members about our association, our program, and the coming season.  (To be held once players start).
• Parents are requested to STAY at the session for its entirety (we do like parents to see how we teach our players the proper skill techniques as well!)

Note: For safety, our younger players will start with tennis balls

COACHES: West Hill Softball volunteer coaches and players!

COST:  100% FREE!!!
However, you must sign-up for the session.
Space will be limited, and be based on a first come, first serve basis.
